Speech and Language Therapy in Schools
Speech and Language Therapy and assessment; provision for pupils who require support with speech, language, communication and literacy. This enables the pupil to be fully supported in their studies, helping to unlock their potential and be an active member of their school community.
Comprehensive assessments are carried out and the results are detailed in a report. The pupils’ strengths, specific needs and targets are identified and shared with the pupil, parents and staff as appropriate.
Pupils access regular, intensive speech therapy with a programme tailored to their identified needs. This can be provided face to face, via Skype or Google Hangouts. Appointments can be arranged to fit within a child’s timetable or study time.
Details of therapy, home practice and helpful strategies are shared with parents and staff. Records and details of targets showing progress are kept in a secure, online record system, which can be accessed by specified individuals only.
Direct support and targeted training is also available to teachers, assistants and additional school staff. Thus enabling you to provide an inclusive, whole school approach to supporting children with speech, language and communication needs.
